• What is NFEP film?

  NFEP is a name recently created by a few manufacturers meaning “non-FEP” film. NFEP film was developed as a better alternative to FEP film and its composition was kept secret for a while. However, after some research it was discovered that NFEP is actually PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) film. We were able to source and offer to you a high quality NFEP film at a very good price.

• NFEP vs FEP

  Is NFEP better than FEP? Yes and no. The main advantage of NFEP is its ability to withstand repeated bending without fracturing. In fact it is 10 times more resistant than FEP.

  NFEP also stretches less and thus releases prints from the film faster.

  However, its surface is a bit softer and it is more prone to scratching. You have to be careful when removing failed prints stuck to the film.

  On top of that, our tests did not show that it provides significantly lower 3D printing failure rate compared to the regular FEP film. In fact, some models with thin supports printed better with FEP film.

• Why and when should you use NFEP film?

  We recommend using NFEP film:

  • if you rarely damage your film by accident and are careful not to puncture or bend the film. NFEP will last longer than FEP.
  • If you don’t have much print failures. That means, you rarely have to peel failed prints off your film. Again, NFEP will last longer than FEP.
  • when you use printers with bigger screens (9 inch or more). NFEP will stretch less than FEP and thus you should be able to print with lower lift heights.

  On other occasions, it might be wiser to stick to the regular FEP film. Remember, punctured FEP film is much cheaper to replace.

  Both our FEP and NFEP films have:

  • OPTICAL GRADE CLARITY. Excellent transmission of ultraviolet rays and visible rays. No significant light refraction or reflection.
  • EXCELENT RELEASE. Displays excellent print release and anti-stick properties.
  • LASTING. Resistant to high temperatures. Chemically resistant. NFEP will last longer than FEP when used properly.
  • UNIFORM THICKNESS AND CLARITY. Provides consistent printing throughout the whole VAT.
  • BIG SHEETS. Film is precut into 210 × 297 mm (A4) size sheets. It will suit almost all small-medium sized 3D printers. You can make two 5.5 inch sheets out of one A4 sheet by cutting it with scissors.
  • EASY TO HANDLE. Precut into sheets and with protective film on both sides. Easy to cut with scissors to the needed size.
